For the past twenty years Billy has been consulting agronomist for scores of courses across North America, England, and Asia.  This has afforded him the opportunity to work directly with a number of modern day architects such as Tom Fazio, Jack Nicklaus, Tom Kite, Brian Silva, and Donald Steel.

 

Billy's experience in all phases of golf course construction, design, and maintenance give him a unique perspective.  His creative approach is exemplified by the innovative bunkering system he developed while at Augusta National, affectionately known as Billy Bunkers.  These bunkers save thousands of dollars annually in maintenance costs and  have been installed at over 500 courses around the world.

 

He understands very well that beauty goes hand-in-hand with the golf experience and knows that a critical aspect of a golf course’s visual appeal is the surrounding vegetation and landscaping. He has studied agronomy and horticulture extensively, applying his knowledge to many acclaimed projects,some of which are listed below.
